The 2025 Prayer Breakfast took place on the morning of Thursday 6th March, with the International Reception taking place the evening before, on Wednesday 5th March.
The keynote speaker at the St David’s Parliamentary Prayer Breakfast was His Royal Highness Prince Seeiso Bereng Seeiso of Lesotho.
Special guests and contributors included The Rt. Hon. Elin Jones MS, Presiding Officer of the Welsh Parliament; Jane Hutt MS, Chief Whip and Minister for Social Justice, Welsh Government and many more. We were also joined by representatives from National Prayer Breakfasts across Europe. Prayers for the Nation were led by Sian Rees of the Bible Society, with a Blessing by the Archbishop Mark O’Toole.
We were pleased to receive performances from the fantastic Watoto Children’s Choir based in Uganda including “I Speak Jesus” and “Wonder Working God”.
Guests also had the pleasure of hearing from tenor Laurie Standish-Hayes, baritone Lucas Maunder and pianist Reuben Strobel of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, who performed “Guide Me O Thou Great Redeemer” and “The Lord’s Prayer.
During the International Reception, we were delighted to be joined by Dr Gudrun Kugler MP, Co-Chair of the Austrian Parliament Prayer Breakfast.
The National Library of Wales exhibited a selection of rare manuscripts and historic Bibles from their extensive archives during the events. We were grateful to Timothy Cutts, Head of Rare Books, who spoke about the exhibition during the International Reception.
Once again, we were delighted to be joined by the Watoto Children’s Choir from Uganda who performed “Ten Thousand Armies”, “Jesus Loves Me” and “Confident”, and guests also heard from Côr CF1 who performed “Diogel Wyf” and “Dros Gymru’n Gwlad”.
